The Hunting Wire Finder/Retriever Type B is designed to locate, and retrieve cut or broken slickline or small diameter braided cables from the well bore, during fishing operations.

The wireline retriever consists of a top sub complete with fishing neck and pin connection, mandrel, body, spear point, slip and split skirt. The retriever may be dressed with the appropriately sized split skirt, making it adaptable to various sizes of tubing.

During a retrieval operation, the tool is deployed into the well on a fishing tool string. As it descends, well fluid and friction move the skirt up the mandrel, exposing the spear point and opening the gap between the spear and the skirt.

Stopping downward travel allows the skirt to move down the mandrel, catching the cable between the spear and the mandrel.

As the fishing tool string is moved uphole, the cable is securely wedged into the tool.

Hunting Wire Finder/Retrievers Type B are available in all common industry toolstring sizes and are manufactured with either a sucker rod or integral quick connections as per customer requirements
