Circumferential Pulling Tool
Features
• Latch collet engages 95% of the fishing neck.
• Core designed to be used when latching sucker rod connections and
rope sockets (cable heads).
• Smooth exterior.
Benefits
• Force spread evenly over the fishing neck when jarring.
• No need to have different cores – reduced costs.
• Less risk if used to run a grab when fishing wire.
The Hunting CPT is designed to engage external fishing necks on Subsurface devices within the well-bore and withstand high impacts that would cause damage to standard pulling tools.
Due to the circumferential design of the latch collet, 95% of the fishing neck is latched, allowing forces to be spread evenly as opposed to standard pulling tools.
CPT – Circumferential Pulling Tool
The unique design of the core allows sucker rod connections and rope sockets to be latched using the same core. The base of the core has an internal reduction that will accept the sucker rod thread allowing the core to rest against the top of the fishing neck.
The design includes specific tools for TCP and 1 ½” gas lift valves where the standard tool would normally only have two dogs.
If a device cannot be recovered from the wellbore, jarring down will shear the release pin of the CPT allowing the tool to move to the release position.
Hunting CPT’s are available in all common industry toolstring sizes and are manufactured with either sucker rod or integral quick connections as per customer requirements
