Designed to cut and retrieve wireline from a stuck tool string, the Hunting Go Devil is manufactured with an integral wireline rope socket head with a standard milled slot and guide to accommodate any wire size up to 0.219”. Go Devils with slots to accommodate larger OD wire are available upon request.

Hunting Go Devils are provided with locating grooves to accommodate slipover centralisers to improve the performance and allow use in different casing sizes.

Hunting supplies two types of Go Devils, designed for two different situations:

Mule Shoe (Angled Bottom) Go Devil
• In situations where the stuck tool string’s rope socket is clean, an angled bottom Go Devil can be deployed, which will cut the wire when it strikes the rope socket.
An angled bottom Go Devil is only used in a well where fluid is present in order to slow the descent. Where a Go Devil has locating grooves a sized slipover centraliser can be fitted, to prevent the Go Devil from wedging with the stuck tool string or causing tubing damage when it “kicks off”.

Flat Bottomed Go Devil
• In situations where the stuck tool string’s rope socket is fouled by sand, debris or wire, a flat bottom Go Devil can be deployed. The flat bottom Go Devil provides a wireline socket above the obstructing material, so that the cutter will have a solid base on which to cut the wireline.
